Data channel confi guration
Click heading Data channel 1, 2 or 3
under the Ports menu on the left column.
Data channel confi guration / data channel
1, 2 or 3 window appears on the right side
of page (e.g. picture 25 for data channel 1).
On these pages you can change data
channel 1...3 settings. All data channels
operates independently and have their
own settings:
Port Status: Choose enabled when data
channel is taken in use. Disabled if data
channel is not in use
Service Mode: Point-to-point type data
transmission is established by enabling the
“server” and “client” settings between the
data ports (always make sure that one
device is set to “server” and the other
device is set to “client”). If data is
transmitted in multicast mode, service
mode is detected automatically
Connection Mode: TCP connection
mode (unicast / multicast)
Connection Status: TCP connection
status (established / waiting / fail)
IP Address: Data IP address, see
example on the left
Port: TCP port value. This number has to
be same at both client and server pairs
Time-To-Live: IP packets “Time to live”
value, can be set 1 to 255
Data Bits: Byte length. Options are 5, 6,
7, 8 & 9. The default value is 8
Note! In case of using parity bits, they
must be included here!
(i.e. 8 x data + 1 x parity = 9)
Stop Bits: Options are 1 or 2. The default
value is 1
Baud Rate: Datachannel connection
speed (range 1200...115 200 bps)
COM Port Mode: Connection protocol
towards the external device
(RS232/422/485 2-wire/485 4-wire)

* If set blank, the point-to-point connection will be locked
between BBE (server) and the fi rst connected BBD (client)
device. Guaranteed point-to-point unicast connection
between BBE and BBD devices is established when there
is set BBD’s IP address.
