3.4

System Shutdown Instructions

3.4.1 AUV System

Simply cutting power to the SSP can result in corrupted data files and problems with restarting 
the SSP Windows® 7-based operating system. Follow the shutdown instructions in this section 
carefully to prevent this from happening.

To shut down the system via the VCC:

1.

Send remote control command 1000 to the 7k Center.
Please refer to the Data Format Definition document for instructions (see 

appendix 

E.1 SeaBat T-Series Subsea Documentation

).

2.

Wait at least 10 seconds, and then remove power from the SSP.

To shut down the system via remote desktop:

1.

Access the SSP operating system via remote control software.

2.

Activate the 7k Center application window.

3.

Press Esc (on the keyboard). This will initiate shutdown of the sonar.

4.

Once the 7k Center application window has closed, click Start.
In the Search Programs and Files, enter: “Shutdown –s –t 1” and press Enter on the 
keyboard. Wait for the remote desktop window to terminate.

5.

Once the remote desktop window has terminated, power may be removed from the 
SSP.

3.4.2 ROV System

CAUTION

Ensure that the SSP is shut down correctly.

1.

Click the Application Settings button in the top right corner of the Sonar UI.
