6.0 Download the Universal M&C Application
The Teledyne Paradise Datacom Universal M&C software is available for download from the
company website, www.paradisedata.com. Click on the “Downloads” link and click on the link
for the Paradise Datacom Universal M&C software; the 7RU SSPA requires version 4.4.8b or
later. Install the software on the computer which will be connected to the system and launch
the application.
6.1 Add Each RM SSPA to the Universal M&C
To add a new unit, choose “Action
→
Add Unit” from the Main Menu. Then choose
“Rackmount SSPA” as shown in Figure 6-1 . When a unit type is chosen an “Add Rackmount
SSPA” dialog will appear for the particular unit you are adding, as shown in Figure 6-2 .
To add a SSPA to the M&C Utility, fill in the appropriate boxes in the “New Rackmount SSPA”
dialog window. A Unit ID is not required although it is recommended. If a Unit ID isn't en-
tered the Unit ID will be assigned by the M&C.
To add a unit connected to a serial port you must supply a Port and a Baud Rate. The default
baud rate is 9600.
To add a unit connected via UDP (TCP/IP) you must supply either an IP Address or Host-
name. Specify the Unit's Unique Address in the Amplifier Address box. If you don't know the
address of the unit you may search for it. Be aware that this search feature is only useful
when you have only
one unit connected to your PC at a time.
