Removal and Replacement Procedures
Main Board You will need to remove all of the rear panel modules, the power supply, and the
front panel before removing the main board. The main board is the largest board
in the instrument and spans the length and width of the chassis bottom.
1. Remove all of the rear panel modules, the power supply, and the front panel.
2. Use a

inch nutdriver to remove the 6 jackscrews from the rear panel: two
from the Remote connector, two from the Pix Mon connector, and two from
the Ext Display connector.
3. Remove the special nuts securing the three BNC connectors to the rear panel.
NOTE.
Special nuts are used on the BNC connectors due to the close physical
spacing, and a special tool is needed to remove them. (See Table 4-8 on
page 4-24.)
4. Remove the eleven T-15 screws that secure the main board to the chassis.
5. Grasp the main board from the front of the instrument, tilt it up slightly, and
then pull it toward you, clearing the rear panel BNCs and connectors and
removing the main board from the chassis.
