Connecting an External

Device

When you connect the oscilloscope to an external RS-232 device, follow these
guidelines:

Use the correct cable (refer to the preceding table).

Use a cable that is no longer than 50 feet (15 meters).

Power off the oscilloscope and the external device before you connect the

cable between them.

NOTE.

This manual contains information on connecting external devices when

making

oating mesaurements. (See page 3, Taking Floating Measurements.)

RS-232 Settings

To set up the oscilloscope RS-232 interface, follow these steps:
