Appendix F: Using the Recovery Discs

In the event the MTX100 does not boot, you can reboot the MTX100 by using
the recovery discs provided with the instrument. Use the procedures in this
section to reinstall the Windows 2000 operating system and the MTX100
application software.

Reinstalling Windows 2000

Perform the following procedure to reinstall the Windows 2000 operating
system:

1. Insert the Windows 2000 Professional Operating System Recovery Disc

into the CD-ROM drive.

2. Turn off, then turn on the instrument. The MTX100 runs from the disc, and a

window for installing the operating system is displayed.

3. Follow the installing instructions on the screen.

4. When A:\> appears at the upper left corner of the screen, simultaneously

press the C Alt + Delete keys to restart the instrument, then
immediately press the eject button of the CD-ROM drive.

5. When the Your Product Key dialog box appears, enter the Product Key

numbers on the product key label located on the instrument cabinet.

6. After you enter the Product Key, the dialog boxes appear for setting

Windows 2000. Follow the installation instructions on the screen.

7. When the Administrator Password text box appears, enter MPEG2 for the

password.

When all settings for Windows 2000 are completed, the Windows desktop
appears.
