. To access Disk Management, you must be a member of the Administrators
group. If you cannot access Disk Management, you must be logged on as an
administrator or a member of the Administrator group.
This displays the volume list at the top right of the window and graphical
view at the bottom right of the window (see Figure D-6). The connected hard
disks are displayed at the bottom right of the window as Disk 1 and Disk 2.

. If the disks were connected to the other system, Disk 1 and Disk 2 status
is “Foreign” not “Online”. In this case, you can online the disks by selecting the
Import Foreign Disks command from the Actions menu.
Changing to Dynamic Disks.
Disk 1 and Disk 2 are basic disks at this time. You
need to change these disks to dynamic disks for creating striped volumes. In
dynamic disks, you can create and delete volumes without restarting the system.
5. Click Disk 1, then select All Tasks

Upgrade to Dynamic Disk from the
Action menu. The Upgrade to Dynamic Disk dialog box appears as shown
in Figure D-7.
