For a CW signal at speci

Each path is calibrated at a single frequency (see Amplitude Accuracy). For signals at different
frequencies, the range is shifted and the actual output power will be offset from the requested

Amplitude accuracy
The AWG does not include a leveling loop. Signal amplitude accuracy is only speci
fi
ed for a
CW signal at the calibration frequency. Signals at different frequencies can have a different
amplitude. Modulated or multi-tone signals often have signi
fi
cantly lower amplitude.
Calibration is done with a small signal to keep the ampli
fi
er in a linear range. When playing
out full amplitude signals at high levels the ampli
fi
ers can be driven into compression and the
output amplitude will not match the requested level and the signal can be distorted.
