371B Service Manual

Semiconductor Checks

Periodic checks of the semiconductors are not recommended. The best check of
semiconductor performance is actual operation in the instrument. More details on
semiconductors are given under “Troubleshooting” later in this chapter.

Periodic Electrical Adjustment

To ensure accurate measurements, check the electrical adjustment of this
instrument after each 2000 hours of operation or every 12 months if used
infrequently. In addition, replacement of components may necessitate adjustment
of the affected circuits. Complete adjustment instructions are given in Chapter
Four: Performance Check and Adjustment. Performing all or selected perfor-
mance checks and adjustments procedures can be helpful in localizing certain
troubles in the instrument and in some cases may correct them.
