b. Unroll plastic pipe in a straight
line away from the pump.
IMPORTANT:
Be sure to work on a
clean, smooth surface to avoid damage
to the power cable and the plastic pipe.
Cut off sealed end of plastic pipe
with a hacksaw.
c. Slide torque arrester (purchase
separately) onto plastic pipe
about 10” from pump discharge.
Pull motor lead cable through
one of small outside holes in
torque arrester.
d. Slip two hose clamps over the
end of the plastic pipe. Push
plastic pipe onto the adapter all
the way to the shoulder of the
adapter. Tighten the two hose
clamps, making sure that the
clamp tightening screws are on
opposite sides of the pipe and
away from the motor lead wires
to prevent damage to insulation.
Tape the tab ends of the clamp to
the pipe with plastic tape.
e. Slide torque arrester down to
about 6” from the end of the
plastic pipe. Wrap with enough
tape to prevent the torque
arrester from sliding up the pipe
while the unit is being lowered
into the well. Install a cable guard
every 20 feet along the pipe.
f. If you have not already done so,
splice the electrical cable to the
motor wire leads according to
the directions under Sections 5, 6
and 7 in Preinstallation.
g. Unroll electrical cable alongside
the plastic pipe. Be sure that
insulation is not damaged and
that all kinks are straightened
out.
h. Cut the plastic pipe to proper
length.
