PROGRAM USERS

Special Procedure for programming non-Tecom magnetic card formats.
The following procedure must be used to allow non-Tecom format magnetic cards such as credit cards, financial
institution cards, etc. to be programmed in the Version 8 Challenger System as Users.
Your system must be equipped with the appropriate card reader in order to perform this function.
1)
Swipe the card in the reader.
2)
If the card is not recognised by the system, an event will be logged in history and on the printer (if fitted);
"Card/Pin" followed by an
enrolment number
of up to 10 digits. e.g. Card/Pin ??????????
Make a note of the enrolment number. This number will be recorded as the PIN code when
programming the user.
3)
Follow the procedure for "CREATE (and CHANGE) A USER" but note the following points:
STEP 1 Select a user.
The user number MUST be below 1000 but does NOT have to be the card number
for these types of card.
STEP 6 User Flags.
If you do not wish the enrolment number to be used as the User's PIN code, the
User Flag "Card Only" must be set to YES.
(If the user flags are not displayed when programming user's, ask the installer to
enable "Display User Flags" in the System Options)
STEP 9 PIN Code.
