Place bread slices on the preheated pan. Once one side gets lightly brown, turn the slice to
toast the other side. Put slices of cheese and add some herbs on top of the toasted side. Cover
the pan with the bowl and toast until cheese is slightly melted. Serve hot with ketchup or with
your favourite dressing and salad.
RECIPES
Wholemeal pancakes
1½ glass wholemeal wheat flour
2 eggs (each egg can be substituted with 1 spoon of finely ground flax seed – to do so,
pour 2-3 spoons of water onto the flax seed and let it soften for several minutes)
1 glass milk (cow’s milk, soy milk, another plant milk, yoghurt, buttermilk or another dairy
product)
1 glass sparkling mineral water
2 spoons oil
a pinch of salt
Stir all the ingredients in a bowl with a whisk or mixer. Grease the surface of the device and
heat it up. Spread small portions of the batter on the plate. Fry the pancakes on both sides by
flipping them over with a wooden or heat-resistant plastic spatula.
Note! Wholemeal pancakes need a bit more time to fry.
Serve with your favourite sweet or savoury filling.
For delicious chocolate pancakes – add a spoon of cocoa and ½ spoon sugar.
A sample savoury filling:
500 g spinach (fry the spinach briefly on a pan; if the spinach is frozen, heat it up on a pan
until excessive water evaporates)
add approx. 270 g feta cheese (cut feta in cubes, add to the spinach and mix together)
spice up as you like (salt, pepper, nutmeg, etc.)
A sample sweet filling:
200 g semi-fat curd cheese
1 spoon honey
½ banana
½ natural yoghurt
A fit omelette
Mix 1 eggs and 1/2 banana.
Spread some oil over the heating plate. Pour the batter onto the hot plate. Cover with the
bowl and let the batter coagulate. Once the omelette is done, put it on a plate, add some
yoghurt, and decorate it with some fresh fruit or jam.
