Troubleshooting
Scheduled recording does not work.
e
You have programmed the wrong time or date.
Check time/date.
e
You have not set the TIMER properly.
Check the scheduled recordings.
e
Locked disc inserted. Remove disc lock.
Dim picture
e
Adjust the brightness and contrast of picture.
There is no picture.
e
Make sure that the TV's input setting is correct.
e
Check up connection that VIDEO OUTPUT jack of
this unit with INPUT jack of TV.
e
There is no external video input.: Check the INPUT
FUNCTION.
e
There is ghosting when P.SCAN output is on.: This
can occur because your TV does not support
P.SCAN. Reset the machine to the default factory
settings.
e
Check the antenna connecting with COAXIAL
CABLE.
e
Those channels were not deleted. Use "Execution
APS" in the SETUP menu to AUTO SEARCH.
Playback does not start
e
Reload the disc with the label side UP.
e
Clean the disc.
There is no sound or only a very low-level sound is
heard.
e
Check that the speakers and components are con-
nected securely.
e
Check the operation of the connected component.
e
Check the audio output setting.
e
The sound is muted during pause, slow-motion,
fast forward/reverse, and stepping playback.
Press the PLAY button to resume normal playback.
Severe hum or noise is heard.
e
Check that the speakers and components are con-
nected securely.
e
Make sure the line cords and speaker cables are
as far away from the AC supply as possible.
e
This unit cannot play such discs as CD-ROMs. Use
a playable disc.
Remote control doesn't work.
e
When the function selected by the main unit and remote
control unit differs, remote control doesn't work. Press
the FUNCTION buttons of the remote control unit to
select correct function. (Even when the FUNCTION but-
tons are pressed without pointing at the main unit, the
function of the remote control unit will be changed.)
e
If the batteries are dead, change the batteries.
e
Use remote control unit within the range (5m /15ft)
and point at the front panel.
e
Clear obstacles between the remote control unit
and the main unit.
e
If a strong light is near the unit, turn it off.
Sound skips.
e
Place the unit on a stable place to avoid vibration
and shock.
e
If the disc is dirty, clean the surface of the disc.
e
Don't use scratched, damaged or warped discs.
