It is important to perform speaker configuration prior to
using the surround sound decoder.
This allows the unit to sense the available speakers and
automatically select decoding modes. It is possible to
receive multi-channel surround sound without a center
speaker, but for best results with Dolby Pro Logic II and
Dolby Digital decoding, at least 5 speakers (Left, Center,
Right, Left Rear and Right Rear) should be used.

When no action is taken for 10 seconds, the Speaker
Setup mode will be cancelled.
Size of Speakers
Press the POWER switch to turn the unit on.
If STEREO indicator is lit, press the SURR. button
and select another surround mode for 6.1 channel or
5.1 channel (such as DOLBY PRO LOGIC MUSIC or
THEATER, etc).
Press the SP SETUP button.
"SP SIZE" appears on the front panel's display.
Press the

button.
"FRONT" appears on the display.
Press the
t
button.
"CONFIG-1" appears on the display.
Press the

b
buttons to change the setting.
When all the configurations have been finished,
press the SP SETUP button or the ENTER button (or
leave the unit for 10 seconds) to exit the Speaker
Setup mode.
