DISTRIBUTION PANEL INSTALLATION
The 864 termination FDH 3000 cabinet may be ordered with up to twelve 72-position
distribution panels pre-installed in the cabinet. If the cabinet is equipped with less than twelve
panels, additional panels may be installed as needed. When ordered separately, distribution
panels are pre-cabled for quick installation in unused mounting slots.
Use the following procedure to install a distribution panel in an unused mounting slot:
1. Use a 3/16-inch hex-key to remove the screws that secure the rear access cover to the
cabinet ground spacer/riser as shown in
2. Locate the cable entry/exit hole cover that corresponds to the side of the cabinet (left or
right) that will receive the distribution panel.

3. Remove the nuts that secure the cable entry/exit hole cover (see
) to the bottom
of the cabinet. Save nuts for reuse.
Note:
Cabinets are equipped with both a left and right swing frame for mounting
distribution panels. Because of cable routing differences, two types of distribution panels
(left or right side installation) are available. Before installing a distribution panel, make
sure the panel type (left or right installation) is appropriate for the swing frame.
