Only when the sides of the ditch are finished should the bottom of the excavation
be finished. This is done with large and flat cuts, be careful to make them level and
smooth. Examine the bottom to measure the depth and grading, making any
necessary adjustment cut.
The basic points covered here are the same, regardless of the excavation. All
other jobs are simple variations of these basic procedures. remember to make the
cuts in smooth cycles; this reduces the operator's fatige and the wearing of the
equipment, while increasing productivity and efficiency of the work.
Special Applications
Digging trenches between a building and an open excavation:
Start the trench next to the wall of the building and dig in the direction of the
open excavation until there is enough space to move the unit away from this
alignment.
Move the unit until the housing of the Tatu Back Hoe is along the central
connection line of the trench. Dig in the spots farhest from the equipment and as
close as possible to the stabilizers. Dump the earth on the opposite side of the trenches.
