Your amounts
Under the ‘Your amounts’ tab (Figure 14) are the amounts of data
that you’ve used so far today and for the preceding 6 days.
ParentBox updates these download counts every 10 minutes, so the
amount shown for today is never more than 10 minutes behind.
In case you’re wondering, a user can exceed their daily quota – as
shown for ‘yesterday’ – if they are granted a temporary suspension
of their limit as described in
Temporarily unblocking a family
member on page 29.
The ‘Your amounts’ tab provides your children with a perfect tool
for learning how different kinds of use of the Internet – watching
videos or using Facebook, for instance – use up different amounts
of download.
Your computers
Under the ‘Your computers’ tab (Figure 15) is a list of all the
computers and other devices assigned to you and a breakdown of
the amounts used by each device (for the current day). This
provides your children with another tool for understanding how the
use of different devices contributes to their total download
amounts.
