Assigning computers to family
members
ParentBox detects each new computer or device when it connects
and lists it on the ‘Computers’ screen (Figure 9). You then assign
those computers to the family members that you have entered
(
Adding family members to ParentBox on page 18) on the ‘Family’
screen.
1. Log in to ParentBox (if you’re not already logged in) and
click the ‘ParentBox’ tab followed by the ‘Computers’ tab.
2. For each computer listed, select the appropriate family
member from the dropdown. You can also enter or edit a
description for the computer.
3. Computers that have not connected for some time will show
a delete checkbox. Check the checkbox if you want to
delete the computer.
4. Click SAVE CHANGES when you’re done.
Assuming that you will have a number of computers and devices
using your home network, ParentBox does its best to help you figure
out which computer or device is which.
Figuring out which computer is which
Most of the time it should be obvious which computer (laptop,
tablet or mobile phone) is which from the computer’s name.
However, some devices do not send a name or the name they
send is not meaningful. Fortunately, ParentBox provides you with
several other pieces of information that help you identify devices:

MAC address, e.g. C4:88:E5:17:D1:AE or C4-88-E5-17-D1-AE
If you suspect which device is involved then you can check
