Changing the Bandwidth for the AM/Shortwave Channel
Filter:
1.
While in AM MODE, the bandwidth of the AM/Shortwave channel filter can
be changed from the default bandwidth of 2 kHz.
2.
There are seven (7) options. At any time while in AM MODE , the bandwidth
can be changed by entering the applicable five (5) digit code as follows and
then pressing the ―#‖:
Code
Bandwidth
00000
6 kHz
00001
4 kHz
00002
3 kHz
00003
2 kHz
00004
1 kHz
00005
1.8 kHz
00006
2.5 kHz, gradual roll off
3.
The LCD display will flash a message showing that the bandwidth is being
changed. The RSSI and SNR will automatically be updated to show the
changes in signal reception.
4.
Using the 1 kHz filter allows the user to maximize DX (distant) reception.
However, there is a trade-off because the sound quality of the signal may
suffer. The various bandwidth filters allows for interesting experimentation
with various frequencies and types of signals.
5.
The bandwidth filter cannot be changed in FM MODE.
RDS/RDBS Displayed Information:

-North America) are communication protocols for the transmission of data
within the FM broadcast signal.
