Unplug the mini-SAS cables from the SAS module on which the
malfunctioning fan is to be replaced.
Note:
If the SAS module is serially connected to the RackStation serving as the
active server, please manually perform a switchover in DSM before disconnecting
SAS cables from the SAS module. For detailed information, please refer to
DSM

Push the lever of the SAS module at the back panel in the indicated direction.
The SAS modules are numbered as shown below.

Pull out the SAS module from the expansion unit.
