PERIODIC MAINTENANCE     2-9

• Turn off the engine and wait minute, then check the oil level

by removing the filler cap

. If the level is below mark “L”,

add oil to “F” level. (off the center stand, do not screw the filler
cap.)
 If the level is above mark “F”, drain oil to “F” level.

OIL FILTER REPLACEMENT

• Drain engine oil as described in the engine oil replacement

procedure.

• Remove the oil filter cap

 and oil filter 

2

.

• Replace the oil filter with a new one.

• Install the spring 

3

 correctly.

• Apply engine oil lightly to the O-rings 

4

 and 

5

.

• Install the oil filter cap and tighten the bolts securely.

Oil filter cap bolt:

 

10 N·m (1.0 kgf-m)

NOTE:
* Before installing the new oil filter and oil filter cap, make sure

that the spring

 and new O-rings

rectly.

* The arrow mark

* Fit the clamp to the bolt

• Add new engine oil and check the oil level as described in the

engine oil replacement procedure.
