Transfer Gearshift Cam Disassembly and
Assembly (LT-A400/F)

Refer to “Transfer Removal and Installation (LT-A400/F)
(Page 3C-4)”.
Disassembly
CAUTION
!
Identify the position of each removed part.
Organize the parts in their respective groups
so that they can be reinstalled in their
original positions.
Disassemble the transfer gearshift cam assembly. Refer
to “Transfer Gearshift Cam Components (LT-A400/F)
(Page 3C-10)”
Assembly
Assemble the gearshift cam in the reverse order of
disassembly. Pay attention to the following points:
NOTE
When reassembling the gearshift cam,
attention must be given to the location and
position of washer and snap rings. The cross
sectional view shows the correct position of
the cams, washer and snap rings. Refer to
“Gearshift System Construction (LT-A400/F)
(Page 3C-12)”.
CAUTION
!
• Never reuse the circlip and snap ring. After
a circlip and the snap ring have been
removed from the shaft, they should be
discarded and new ones must be installed.
• When installing a new circlip and snap
ring, do not expand the end gap larger than
required to slip the ring over the shaft.
• After installing circlip and snap ring, make
sure that they are completely seated in
their groove and securely fitted.
• When installing a new snap ring (1), pay attention to
its direction. Fit it to the side where the thrust is as
shown in the figure.
• Install the gearshift cam (1) to the shaft.
CAUTION
!
• Align the punch mark “A” of the gearshift
cam with the punch mark “B” of the shaft.
Transfer Gearshift Shaft No.1 Bearing

• Inspect the transfer gearshift shaft No.1 bearing for
abnormal noise and smooth rotation. Replace the
bearing if there is anything unusual.
