In s tallation
To inst a ll a sp a rk plug, turn it in a s
f a r a s possible with your fingers,
then tighten it with a wrench.
Reinst a ll the a ir cle a ner box a nd
fuel t a nk in the reverse order of
remov a l.
NOTE: Be careful to check that
the inlet tubes are fitted securely
when reinstalling the air cleaner
box.
NOTE: Check that the fuel tank
drain hose and breather hose are
not bent before reinstalling the
fuel tank.
NOTICE
Improper in s tallation of the
s park plu g can dama g e your
motorcycle. An overly-ti g ht or
cro ss -threaded s park plu g will
dama g e the aluminum thread s
of the cylinder head.
Carefully turn the s park plu g
by hand into the thread s . If the
s park plu g i s new, ti g hten it
with a wrench about 1/2 turn
pa
s t fin g er ti g ht. If you are
reu s in g the old s park plu g ,
ti g hten it with a wrench about
1/8 turn pa s t fin g er ti g ht.
NOTICE
Dirt can dama g e the movin g
en g ine part s of your motorcy-
cle if it enter s an open s park
plu g hole.
Cover the s park plu g hole
while the s park plu g i s out of
the hole.
