THROTTLE CABLE PLAY
Adjust the throttle cable play
A
as follows.
• Pull the throttle adjuster cover

• Loosen the lock-nut

of the throttle cable.
• Turn the adjuster

in or out until the throttle cable play
A
should be 2.0 – 4.0 mm (0.08 – 0.16 in) at the throttle grip.
• Tighten the lock-nut

while holding the adjuster
3
.

IDLE SPEED
• Adjust the throttle cable play. (

NOTE:
Warn up the engine before adjusting the engine idle speed.
• Connect a tachometer.
• Start the engine, turn the throttle stop screw and set the
engine idle speed as follows.
Engine idle speed: 1 600 ± 100 r/min

CLUTCH
• Loosen the lock-nut

• First, turn the release screw

clockwise by one turn and turn
it counterclockwise until resistance is felt then turn it clock-
wise by 1/8 turn.
• Tighten the lock-nut

while holding the release screw

Inspect initially at 1 month and every 6 months there-
after.
After the adjustment is completed, check that handle-
bars movement does not raise the engine idle speed
and that the throttle grip returns smoothly and auto-
matically.
