Bluetooth Overview
Bluetooth is a wireless communication technology
used to transmit audio and data. A connected
Bluetooth device (cell phone, MP3 player, computer,
etc.) can wirelessly share audio or data with the
SurfLink Mobile 2, which in turn can stream audio to
synced hearing devices. A Bluetooth device you wish
to use with your SurfLink Mobile 2 must support the
appropriate Bluetooth profiles.
• To make/receive phone calls, your Bluetooth
device must support either the “Headset” (HSP)
or “Hands-Free” (HFP) profile.
• To listen to stereo music, your Bluetooth device
must support the “Media” (A2DP) profile.
To enable Bluetooth communication, two procedures
must be completed:
Pairing
– Establishes a relationship between a
Bluetooth device and SurfLink Mobile 2. It only
needs to be done once for each Bluetooth device
you wish to use with your SurfLink Mobile 2.
Connecting
– Establishes the ability to actively
stream audio from a previously paired Bluetooth
device to your synced hearing devices via the
SurfLink Mobile 2. Many Bluetooth devices
perform the connection procedure automatically
after pairing.
