SUPERSERVER 1028U Series Series User's Manual

6-7 System Cooling

Four to eight 4-cm counter-rotating fans provide the cooling for the system. Each fan
unit is actually made up of two fans joined back-to-back, which rotate in opposite

directions. This counter-rotating action generates exceptional airflow and works to

dampen vibration levels. Four compound fans come standard with the server, and
four more can be added.
Make sure the chassis top cover makes a good seal so the cooling air circulates
properly through the chassis.

Optional Fans

Additional fans are recommended when expansion cards are added. This table
shows the fan positions.
