Chapter 1: Introduction

Air Shrouds

The SC217HD chassis includes one mylar air shroud that directs the airflow where

cooling is needed on each serverboard. Always use the air shroud included with
your chassis on each serverboard.

Cooling System

The chassis accepts four system fans powered from the backpane. One pair of fans
runs whenever the corresponding computing node is powered on.

Mounting Rails

The chassis includes a set of quick-release rails, and can be placed in a rack for
secure storage and use. To setup your rack, follow the step-by-step instructions
included in this manual.
