SuperServer 5039MS-H8TRF User's Manual
The motherboard has two SATA 3.0 ports (I-SATA2 and I-SATA3) and two SAS 3.0 ports
(SAS0 and SAS1) that are supported by the Intel PCH C236 chipset. These are connected
to the backplane for the hard drives.
I-SATA2 is a Supermicro SuperDOM. This is a yellow SATA DOM connector with power pins
built in and does not require separate external power cables. This connector is backward-
compatible with non-Supermicro SATADOMs that require an external power supply.
Note:
For more information on the SATA HostRAID configuration, please refer to the Intel
SATA HostRAID user's guide posted on our website at

TPM/Port 80 Header
A Trusted Platform Module (TPM)/Port 80 header is located at JTPM1 to provide TPM
support and a Port 80 connection. A TPM is a security device that supports encryption and
authentication in hard drives. It enables the motherboard to deny access if the TPM associated
with the hard drive is not installed in the system.
