Empulse F55 Rev.E
Undo the clamp screws of the height adjustment
mechanism on the pulling device (B), so that the receiver
for the intermediate sub-frame can be pushed up and
down onto the frame tube of the pulling device by hand.
During height adjustment the angle adjustment of the
clamps on the wheelchair also changes.
During this adjustment the castors remain on the 45 mm
high support, screw A on the gripper clamp is still open.
Now measure the angle from the pulling device to the
floor. To do this, position the stem (see also Adjusting the
handlebar position) at an angle of 20° (FF variants) or
65° (SA variants) using the scale on the stem (C). Put a
spirit level (D) on the top of the stem.
The aim of the adjustment is that the spirit level is level
and at the same time, the castors are on a 45 mm high
support, this means that the angle of the pulling device to
the floor is at its best.
Having the optimum angle will ensure the best level of
traction and manoeuvrability.

Once the correct height is achieved, tighten the Allen
screws (B) of the angle and height adjustment with a
torque of 10 Nm. Now tighten the clamp screws of the
angle adjustment mechanism (A) on the clamps fitted to
the wheelchair to a torque of 15 Nm.
Re-tighten screw after 30min before using the F55, then
retighten again after 24hrs.
NOTE:
Wherever torque settings are specified, it is strongly
recommended that a torque meter (not included), is used
to verify correct torque specification is achieved. If no
other information is given, the generic torque for M6
screws is 7 Nm.
CAUTION:
Some of the screws that are used in manufacture have a
thread lock (blue dot on the threads) and can be used up
to three times, then they must be replaced by new screws
with thread lock. Alternatively, you can put Loctite™ 243
threadlock on the screws and re-fit them.
