turn, anticlockwise and release the pole beneath. The tent is opened using the guy line.
The SunnyTent can be completely or partially opened or closed. For example, by attaching
the guy line to the central twist peg, the tent remains partially open.
Note: If you have completely opened your SunnyTent, you must pull the tent upright as described
in step 5b, in order to prevent damage to your tent.
Note: The wind can seriously damage your SunnyTent. Therefore, please read the instructions
carefully!
C. MANUAL
1. Please read the safety guidelines carefully first. Comply with these rules now and in the future.
2. The SunnyTent can only be assembled on locations where the anchors and pegs can be twisted /
hammered into the ground. If you want to place the SunnyTent on a hard surface, you can buy
the special “hard-surface-installation-set”.
3. Never place your SunnyTent on a hard surface without using a special hard surface installation
kit. This is to prevent wear on the underside of the tent (the two lowest pole tunnels). Such
wear is not covered under the warranty.
If the ground surface on which you wish to install your SunnyTent is not even, wear on the
underside (the two lowest pole tunnels) can occur, even when using a hard surface installation
kit. Therefore, only install a SunnyTent on an even surface.
4. Very occasionally, the SunnyTent can be damaged by a combination of the following factors:
• Strong, direct sunshine.
• The tent is fully open where the layers of tent foil are lying piled on each other behind the
pool, in direct, strong sun.
A combination of these factors can result in the anti-condensation wax on the tent foil melting.
The melting wax can cause the layers to adhere to each other. If you later pull the tent upright
to close it, the layers of tent foil can stick together and result in a deformed tent foil.
If the above factors occur, you should shield the stacked tent foil behind the pool by fitting a
specially designed cover, available in our webshop. Without using this cover, you run the risk
of ‘melting damage’ to your tent foil. This damage is not covered by the warranty.
If the cover is unavailable in our webshop, you should protect the tent foil stacked behind the
pool against the sun with a thick light-coloured insulating blanket, or other such-like insulating
material.
5. The SunnyTent is suitable for a variety of uses. The most common use is to cover a swimming
pool, sandpit, trampoline and / or kitchen garden. The SunnyTent, however, is sometimes used to
temporarily store products that are required to stay dry. Keep in mind that sufficient ventilation
is required to prevent stored products from spoiling etc.
6. In case you use an automatic lawnmower (robot), please make sure that it cannot bump into
the SunnyTent, in order to prevent damage to the tent.
7. You can close the SunnyTent entirely, open it entirely (fold it backwards) or partly open it.
• Attention: follow the safety guidelines carefully to prevent serious injury or worse.
• At a low wind speed (forecast) of maximum 3 Bft., you can leave the SunnyTent partly open.
Especially if the wind is coming from the other side than the opening side. The partially
opened tent should be secured with the supplied tension rope, as described in the
installation-instructions.
• At a wind speed (forecast) of between 3 and 5 Bft., it is not recommended to leave the tent
partially opened. Especially if the wind direction aligns with the opening of the tent, which
could create the risk of the tent being blown down. In this case, you are required to either leave
the tent completely opened or completely closed (with all pegs pinned down). Warning: do
not play or stay in an enclosed SunnyTent.
• With an expected wind speed of 5 to 7Bft, you should close the SunnyTent completely
(securing it solidly with the twist pegs / hard surface kit) or open it completely (folding it
behind) and secure with something heavy, without any sharp edges, so that the tent stays
firmly in place.
• With an expected wind speed of 7Bft or higher, you should completely open your SunnyTent
(folding it backwards) and rest something heavy without any sharp edges on top of it, so that
it stays firmly in place.
• Snow and glazed frost piling up on the SunnyTent may cause damage. Therefore, you need to
open the SunnyTent completely (by folding it backwards) when snow or glazed frost is expected.
• Never leave the SunnyTent partially open unattended. Closely monitor the weather and weather
forecasts, to prevent the SunnyTent from being lifted from the anchors and from getting
damaged itself or from causing injury or damage to others or their property.
8. Do not leave the SunnyTent upright and unattended unless you are 100% sure that there are
calm, predictable weather conditions forecast (no strong gusts of wind etc…). If you do so, you
run the risk of damage to your tent as a result of, for example strong wind, snow or sleet. This
type of damage is not protected by the warranty.
9. In case you use the SunnyTent over your swimming pool, the placement of the so-called
skimmer requires attention. You should not place it at the open side of the tent, but as close
to the anchor sides as possible, to prevent the canvas / tent foil from getting stuck on the skimmer
when the SunnyTent is being opened / closed. Always anticipate where the skimmer would be
best located to prevent damage to the canvas.
10. The first rainfalls will create a foam-like substance on top of the outside of the tent. This is an
anti-condensation wax layer on the canvas / foil. The first shower of rain will wash the wax
partly from the tent. This will cause no further harm and will not last long. This type of wax is
also used on the inside of the tent to prevent condensation on the canvas / foil. For example,
splashing water could also make the foam-like substance appear on the inside of the SunnyTent.
This will not cause any further harm.
11. With regards to maintenance / cleaning of your SunnyTent: never use cleaning products as
these products can cause damage to the stitching that is used to keep the canvas / foil parts
together. We recommend that you clean your SunnyTent by spraying cold clean water over the
tent. Do not use a hard jet, warm water, brushes or any other tools as these may damage to the
protective layer of the canvas / foil, which may cause accelerated wear and tear and destroy the
anti-condensation layer.
12. Caution: Make sure that you store your SunnyTent at room temperature. If you store you tent too
close to heating pipes there is a chance that the material of the pole tunnels may shrink
