1. Raise the Fowler backrest to 75° or higher.
2. Using a 1/2” open end wrench, loosen the nuts in the actuator arms on the end of the trip bar.
3. Use a 5/32” hex wrench to turn the hex screw one to two turns counterclockwise if the Fowler backrest will not move.
4. Use a 5/32” hex wrench to turn the hex screw one to two turns clockwise if the Fowler backrest will not hold its position.
5. Tighten the nuts.
6. Make sure that the Fowler backrest will travel from flat to 90° and down again and that the Fowler backrest holds its
position when weight is applied.
7. Verify proper operation before you return the product to service.
