Check the air
gap

CAUTION

Risk of accident due to live and moving
components

Incorrect installation work can lead to accidents. Ob-
serve the following safety guidelines.

► Live components located in the hand and operating

range, must be isolated from contact before work
begins.

► The machine must be secured against non-intended

reconnection before the installation work.

1. Guide the measuring tool (125) through one of the

three measuring grooves (124) on the adjusting nut
(5) between the coil body (2) and the armature plate
(4) and engage the clutch.

2. If the measuring tool (125) moves with noticeable

resistance while engaged, the air gap (La) is config-
ured correctly.
If the measuring tool can only be moved using a
great deal of resistance or cannot be moved at all,
the air gap (La) is too small. However, if the measur-
ing tool can be moved easily, the air gap (La) is too
large. In both cases, the air gap (La) must be adjus-
ted, see section 6.7.

1. Disengage the clutch.

2. If necessary, remove the measuring tool.

3. Remove the safety bolts (111).

4. Loosen the screw (15) and adjust the armature plate

by turning the adjusting nut (5).

5. Tighten screws (15) to the specified torque and

check the air gap, see section 6.6.

6. If necessary, repeat steps 1 to 5 until the measuring

tool can be moved with noticeable resistance be-
tween the armature plate and coil body.

7. Check the air gap every three measuring grooves of

the adjusting nut (5) and adjust if necessary.

8. Mount the safety bolts (111) as a torsional limitation

for the screws (15).
