3.9.2
1.
Insert plunger into plunger sleeve. Ensure that
pin (1) goes into the groove.
Installation and setting of the plunger (Fig. 7)
2.
Turn stitch depth knob 244.0322 all the way to the right (highest setting)
3.
Screw in threaded section (2) with plunger set screw (3) until it is flush with
the plunger sleeve.
4.
Push the plunger down with a screwdriver or similar tool until the surface
of plunger set screw (3) protrudes out of the screw for plunger regulator
(2).
5.
Screw in plunger set screw (3) into the plunger so that when its double-flat
surface snaps into the groove of threaded section (2), the needle is raised
0.2 to 0.3 mm from the plunger.
6.
When the needle tip is approximately 2 mm from the plunger centre, the
plunger has reached its highest point and remains stationary (±0.01
tolerance) until the needle tip is 2 mm after the plunger middle. These
values can be set exactly by turning eccentric (2). (Fig. 5)
3.9.3
Set plunger motion on plunger shaft in such a way that the pressure exerted
axially by pull-back spring (2) will always be taken over from the pressure
bearing (4) on the right hand above the set ring (5). Play between disk (1) and
slide (3) should be about 0.1 mm (
Adjusting plunger motion (Fig. 8 and Fig. 9)
The adjustment screw (2) must be limited by set screw (5), the counter nuts (7)
and the adjustment knob (1) so that slide ((3) Fig. 8) is adjustable in its crank
radius (= x in Fig. 7) from 13 - 16 mm. However, the pull-back spring ((2) Fig. 8)
should not be excessively contracted to avoid gears being placed one on top of
the other. Where by jamming and/or damaging of the slide edges would result.
