When preparing heavy goods, the feed plate must lift 5 mm from the stitch
plate, i.e. basic setting. For fine to medium material a stroke of 2.5 mm is
recommended, which is obtained by loosening the screw (1) and by moving the
crank.
Adjusting feed plate (Fig. 6 b)
In case of a feed plate stroke attaining 5 mm, a stroke of loop reaching 2.5 mm
and upon working with the maximum stitch length, the feed plate should rise
from the stitch plate as soon as the needle point is positioned 18 mm in front of
the plunger center, after passing its lower dead point. The feed plate will touch
the stitch plate upon the needle point being placed 17 mm in front of the
plunger center.
When lifting, the distance between the feed plate and the stitch plate should
attain 14.5 mm.
