DT3 CleanStation
DOC-01121 Rev. A
3-8
5 Operating Instructions
Before operating the cleaning station, put on neoprene gloves, mask, and safety
goggles.
You can clean models printed with SUP707 with water only, or you can add an
alkaline solution to the water for cleaning models printed with SUP706.
5.1 Filling the Tank
To fill the tank with water:
1. Close the drain valve at the rear of the unit (see Figure 1 on the previous page).
2. Disconnect the power cord.
3. Make sure that a drainage hose is properly connected (see "Connecting the
Drainage Hose" on the previous page).
4. Fill the tank until the water reaches at least 2.54 cm (1 inch) below the top of
the tank.
This is approximately 23 liters (6 gallons).
Warning:
Adding too much water to the tank will cause it to overflow.
Fill the tank until at least 2.54 cm (1 inch) below the top of the tank. If you fill
the tank more than this, take into account the volume of the parts to be
cleaned so that it doesn't overflow.
There is a water-level switch 2.54 cm (1 inch) below the top of the tank. If
the water level drops below this level, the DT3 CleanStation will not power
on.
5.2 Adding Alkaline Cleaning Solution to the Tank
An alkaline cleaning solution is used for cleaning models printed with SUP706.
The solution is prepared by adding sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and sodium
metasilicate (Na
2
SiO
3
) to the water in the tank. See DOC-08380, "Working with
Alkaline Cleaning Solution".
Warning:
Handling the alkaline solution can be dangerous. See "Alkaline Cleaning
Solution Safety Instructions" on page 6.
