3 Safety Guidelines
The following general guidelines, together with the instructions provided
throughout this guide, ensure user safety while operating and maintaining the
DT3 CleanStation.
If the system is not operated as specified, the user's
safety might be compromised!
• Never operate the DT3 CleanStation while the cover is open.
• The power cable should be connected at an easily accessible electric socket
near the DT3 CleanStation.
• Do not move the DT3 CleanStation so that the power cable becomes taut or
disconnects from the power socket.
• A VAC ground fault interrupt (RCD) must be used.
• Only operate the DT3 CleanStation when wearing neoprene gloves, safety
goggles and a protective mask.
• Make sure that the room is properly ventilated. The ventilation system should
change the air at least four times every hour.
• Remove parts with the supplied basket or with steel or plastic tongs. Do not
use aluminum tongs when the cleaning solution is in the DT3 CleanStation.
• Never move the DT3 CleanStation when there is liquid in the tank.
• Placing parts in the tank raises the liquid level. Monitor the liquid level of the
tank to prevent overflowing.
3.1 Alkaline Cleaning Solution Safety Instructions
Wear the following protective clothing when working with the alkaline cleaning
solution:
• safety goggles
• protective mask
• nitrile gloves
• boots or closed shoes
Depending on how you plan to handle the alkaline cleaning solution, the
suggested protective clothing listed above might not be sufficient. Consult
your company Safety Officer
before
handling the solution.
3.1.1
Preparing the Alkaline Cleaning Solution
Always add caustic soda to water. Never pour water onto caustic soda. Mixing it
with water generates heat that could ignite other materials. See DOC-08380,
"Working with Alkaline Cleaning Solution".
3.2 Waste Disposal
Fully cured models present no special safety or health-related issues. However,
check if local regulations regard cured and partially cured resins as hazardous
industrial waste, and comply with all applicable regulations governing their
disposal.
Dispose of the alkaline cleaning solution according to local regulations.
