Motor
65.
Remove the spikes from the
bottom
of the mounting tabs on the motor (we recommend the
ParkZone PKZ3624). Sand the tabs smooth.
Turn the motor
right
side
up
. Use a sharp
single-edge razor blade to shave off the small “humps” at the
rear
of the mounting tabs.
Sand smooth.
66.
Feed the motor lead through the opening in the nose, and into the radio compartment.
Press the motor into the motor mount until it is fully seated. Friction alone should be more
than enough to retain the motor. Place a small drop of medium CA to the
front
of each
mounting tab, to ensure that it is secure.
67.
Connect the motor lead to the socket at the
rear
of the receiver brick. Orient the lead so
that the black wire is closest to the receiver clip.
Windscreen
68.
Wrap the acetate windscreen around the cockpit and window openings. Hold in place with
a low tack masking tape. Wick small drops of CA around the edges of the acetate
windscreen to secure it in place.
Use as little glue as possible! Excess glue can fog
the acetate, or run onto the model and ruin the finish!
Landing Gear
69.
Use the length of 1/32 in. wire (supplied in the kit), and a small pair of needle nose pliers,
bend the landing gear wire over the
Landing Gear Detail
drawing on the
Detail Sheet 1 of 2
.
Proceed carefully, as accuracy is critical for a proper fit.
70.
Slit the covering over the landing gear pocket in the
bottom
of the fuselage. Insert the
landing gear wire, and seat it fully into the landing gear pocket. Press the landing gear
retainer, part LG1 (sheet 10/10, 1/32 in. balsa) into the pocket until it is flush with the
bottom
of the fuselage. Wick CA along the pocket and at the point where the landing gear wire
exits, to secure it in place.
