Final Assembly Continued
157. Feed the ESC and associated wiring through the hole in the lower part of the ply motor
mount F52. Mount the motor with the four #2 4/40 pan head screws supplied with your kit.
158. If you will be using the recommended HS-55 servos in the fuselage, locate the heavier duty,
mid-sized control horns that comes with the servos, and cut off one arm of each horn.
Make two (2).
159. Using a 1/16 in. drill bit in a pin vise, ream out the center hole in the remaining arm on the
control horns. Make two (2).
160. Mount an E/Z Connector [DUB845] to the center hole on the control horns. Make two (2).
161. Center the servos electronically by temporarily connecting to the receiver and powering up
the system. Ensure the servos are connected to the elevator and rudder channels on your
receiver, and center the trims for these channels. Disconnect the servos, and mount them
within the fuselage as shown. Mount the control horns so that they extend in opposite
directions, 90 degrees perpendicular to the servos as shown.
162. Take the two 24 in. lengths of 1/32 music wire and make a 90 degree bend about 3/16 in.
from one end of each wire.
163. Open the covering over the pushrod housings by piercing the covering with the end of the
wire pushrod. Feed the straight end of the pushrods into each of the housings on either
side of the fuselage.
164. As the pushrods enter the radio compartments, guide them through the E/Z Connectors on
the servos. Slide the pushrods through until the bent ends are even with the rear of the
fuselage. Trim off the excess wire about an inch beyond the servo arms, and snug down
the screws on the E/Z Connectors.
