6.2 Suction cleaning
The suction strength of the vacuum cleaner can be adapted to
the cleaning job in hand with the secondary air-slide.
Dry suction cleaning
must only be performed with a
dry
filter, appliance and accessories, so that dust is not retained and
becomes encrusted.
A folded filter and an additional paper filter bag should be used
for soot, cement, gypsum, flour and similar dust materials.
Wet suction cleaning
without paper filter bag and without
fabric filter or fabric filter bags. The folded filter can be used.
The float valve interrupts suction when the container is full.
Switch off the motor and empty the container.
WARNING:
If a container from which the contents is to be
extracted is in a higher position than the vacuum cleaner, and if
its contents is larger than the capacity of the suction container,
then liquid will continue to flow (suction lift principle).
Remedy:
Empty the container; see Section 7.
●
Remove the suction hose from the liquid before the
appliance is switched off.
●
The float valve will automatically close should the vacuum
cleaner fall over during operation.
Set up the appliance again and briefly switch off until the
valve audibly opens again.
●
On account of the high suction strength and flow favour-
ing design of the container, water can still flow out of the
hose after the appliance has been switched off.
●
The float valve can switch off prematurely when larger
quantities of liquid are being sucked up. Switch off the
appliance. Remove the filter and drain off the water.
●
It is also possible to operate the appliance without a filter
if liquid is primarily cleaned up.

from the container. Empty the container or remove the paper fil-
ter bag from the suction opening.
8. Cleaning, storage
Tap the fabric filter from time to time. Clean the FP 3600 folded
filter with a soft brush and, if necessary, clean with water.
Allow the filter and container to dry so that dust cannot adhere
to the moist parts. Insert an exchangeable filter. To avoid
encrustation dry products should be removed from the container
before switching over to wet suction cleaning.
Clean the container and accessories with non-aggressive
cleaners.
Wipe the top section

with a moist cloth.
Protect the appliance from frost and do not store outdoors.
Wind up the power supply cable and hang up on the handle.
9. Self-help to eliminate fault
Function faults are not always attributable to appliance defects!
Do NOT attempt to perform any other corrective measures and
contact the after-sales service.
Fault:
– Declining suction
strength.
– Motor sound changes.
– Appliance does not work.
Possible cause/remedy:
Clogged motor protection filter
– Clean.
Full container – Empty.
Exhausted paper filter
– Exchange.
Clogged nozzle, tube or hose.
Clogged filter – Clean.
Is the power supply cable
plugged into the mains socket?
Is the power supply cable
damaged?
Has the fuse blown?
Old appliances contain valuable materials
that can be recycled. Do not dispose of
such appliances with the normal domestic
waste but rather by way of appropriate
collecting points.
