8.2.3 Dismounting / replacement of the module
Dismounting the DIN rail
• Switch off the auxiliary power.
• Disconnect the fibre optic cable from the Media Converter.
• Loosen and remove the safety screws of the pluggable terminals VDC1.
• Remove the Ethernet cables with an RJ45 plug connector from the RJ45 sockets of
the Media Converter.
• Remove the Media Converter from the DIN rail or replace it in accordance with option
1 or option 2.
Option 1: Frontal removal

Explosion hazard caused by inserting or disconnecting cables in potentially
explosive atmospheres!
Non-compliance can result in severe or fatal injuries.
• Do not insert or disconnect the RJ45 Ethernet plug or auxiliary power
terminals during operation in potentially explosive areas!

Risk of eye injury caused by laser beam!
Non-compliance can result in severe injuries.
• Do not look directly into the emitting diodes or into the optical fibre
with optical aids (e.g. magnifying glasses, magnifiers and microscopes)
during operation. Laser class 1 according to IEC/EN 60825-1.

• Strongly press the Media Converter
upwards until the mounting clip (3)
detaches from the DIN rail (1).
• Swing the top edge of the device
forwards and remove the device
from below.
