Installation
8.3.1 Connection of the auxiliary power

Standardized SC plugs are used for these devices.
• Insert the fibre optic cable into the SC plug connector of the transmission and reception
channel and ensure that the plug locks into place.
• Observe the notes for routing the fibre optic cables! (See "Project Engineering" Chap
-
ter)
8.3.3 Connecting the RJ45
• Connect an Ethernet cable with an RJ45 plug connector to the socket of the device.

• Slide the Media Converter out from
the DIN rail, depending on the space
available.
Operation under difficult conditions, such as, in particular, on ships, requires
additional measures to be taken for correct installation, depending on the
place of use. Further information and instructions on this can be obtained
from your regional sales contact on request.

• Connect the auxiliary energy (nominal
voltage = 24 V DC, see data sheet) to
terminals VDC1 and GND.
• Secure the pluggable terminals on the
device using screws to prevent them
from loosening (tightening torque 0.5
to 0.6 Nm)
• Secure the connection line against
tensile load and scuffing.
