7.1.6 Communication Structure
Communication using infrared adapter
▶
Connect the infrared adapter from the configuration kit to a USB port on the PC.
▶
Open the "Control panel > Device Manager > Ports (COM & LPT)" application.
▶
Search for the "USB Serial Port" entry and note the specified COM port number
(e.g. COM 20).
▶
Go to the configuration software.
In the bottom-left area, you will find the selection list for the COM ports.
▶
Select the COM port that you noted earlier (e.g. COM 20).
Communication using Bluetooth
▶
Set the DIP switch on the PCB to the "ON" position in order to activate
Bluetooth communication.
▶
Use the slide switch in the configuration software to select the setting "BLE".
▶
Click on "Connect".
A window will open to search for Bluetooth devices within reception range and display the
results.
▶
Click on the entry for the device with the corresponding serial number.
▶
Check the connection quality using the displayed RSSI value. The value should be at least
"Good". If necessary, change the position of the PC.
▶
Click on "CONNECT".
The firmware revision, serial number, limiting values, values for the A/D converter,
adjustment parameters and the current status of the grounding monitoring device are loaded.
Depending on the current status, the red or green indicator lamp lights up and the current
status of the grounding monitoring device is displayed in the status line.
Interruption in communication between the grounding monitoring device and PC
If communication between the device and the PC is lost, all information elements are inactive.
They will only become active and selectable again after re-establishing the communication.
