quency response and a phase shift of 180° at
the adjustable frequency.

Ƅ Band Pass

(Band Pass Filter)

band pass filter with a passband around the
adjustable frequency. The bandwidth is
defined by the adjustable quality factor.

Ƅ Notch Filt

(Notch Filter)

notch filter for narrow-band attenuation of the
level around the adjustable frequency.
The rate of the attenuation is defined by the
adjustable quality factor.

5.3.6.3 Changing filter parameters

1) Select an input with its button EDIT/ MUTE

(6).

2) Use the rotary knob PM1/ ENTER to select

the desired filter (

EQ-1

to

EQ-5

) and press

the knob to confirm. The present adjustment
is shown, e. g.

Input-A           EQ-1 Ƅ
ƊByp=Off Type=Peaking_Eq

3) Press the knob ENTER. The present filter

parameters are now shown, e. g.

Ɗ 1000Hz  +11.5dB Q=1.1

i. e. mid-frequency = 1000 Hz,
gain = 11.5 dB, filter quality factor = 1.1

Note: The availability of a parameter depends
on the filter type selected.

4) Adjust the frequency with the rotary knob

PM1/ ENTER. A change is effective immedi-
ately.
For faster frequency changes, press the
knob. The lower line of the display now
shows e. g.:

ƊEdit Freq = 1000Hz

The frequency can now purposefully be
changed with the rotary knobs PM1 in steps
of 100 Hz, PM2 in steps of 10 Hz and PM3 in
steps of 1 Hz. To return to the higher menu
level, press the knob ESC.

5) Adjust the gain

attenuation with the rotary

knob PM2.

6) Adjust the filter quality factor with the rotary

knob PM3. A change is effective immediately.

To return to the next higher menu level, press
the knob ESC. To exit the adjusting menu, press
the knob ESC repeatedly or deselect the input
selected first.

5.4 Configuring outputs

The signals of all outputs run through the pro-
cessing chain shown in fig. 6.

5.4.1

Muting an output and
selecting it for the adjustment

Each output can both be muted and selected for
the change of adjustments with the button EDIT/
MUTE (6) below its level indication.

Press button for a while (approx. 2 s):

The output is muted or the sound is reacti-
vated. With the output muted, the LED (7)
above the button shows red.

Press button shortly:

The output is selected or deselected. When
the output is selected, the LED above the but-
ton shows blue.

To make adjustments for several outputs
together, further outputs can be selected in
addition to the output already selected.
These outputs can be deselected again. If the
first output selected is deselected, all outputs
are deselected. Only the parameters
changed during linking are adapted. All indi-
vidual adjustments of the outputs are main-
tained.

When selecting an output, the display (1) shows
the last menu item called for this output in the
menu of the output adjustments (

fig. 7). The

menu items are selected and the adjustments
are changed with the knobs PM1/ ENTER (2),
PM2 / ESC (4) and PM3 (5).

5.4.2

Changing the name

The names of the outputs are factory-set to
“Out-1” to “Out-8”. These names can be
changed for each configuration to indicate e. g.
the place or the function of the speakers.

1) Select an output with its button EDIT/ MUTE

(6).

2) Use the rotary knob PM1/ ENTER to select

the menu item

Name

and press the knob to

confirm. The present name is shown, e. g.

ƊName = Low-A

The first character of the name flashes.

3) Use the rotary knob PM2 to change the flash-

ing character. Select the next character to be
changed with the rotary knob PM1 in each
case.

The name of an output may consist of

6 characters as a maximum.

4) To accept the change, press the knob

ENTER. To maintain the old name, press the
knob ESC.

Note: If several outputs are selected, only the
name of the output selected first is changed with
this function.

5.4.3

Selecting the input signal (Source)

Any desired combination of the four input chan-
nels can be assigned to each output. Each of the
input signals in the mixed signal for this output
can be attenuated up to 30 dB.

1) Select an output with its button EDIT/ MUTE

(6).

2) Use the rotary knob PM1/ ENTER to select

the menu item

Source

. The present

assignment is shown, e. g.

A:00  B:--- C:-30 D:---

i. e.  the signals of the input channels A and C
are fed to the output, the level of C is attenu-
ated by 30 dB.

3) To change the adjustment, press the knob

ENTER. The display shows now:

ƊIn-A  Mute=Off Val=00

4) Use the rotary knob PM1/ ENTER to select

the input channel in each case. (

In-A

to

In-D

).

Use the rotary knob PM2 to select if the

signal of this input is to be fed to the output
(

Mute=Off

) or not (

Mute=On

).

Use the rotary knob PM3 to attenuate the

signal (for this output only). Adjustments from

Val=00

(0 dB gain, i. e. no attenuation) up

to

Val=-30

(i. e. 30 dB attenuation) are

possible.

A change is effective immediately.

5) To exit the submenu, press the knob ESC.

5.4.4

Adjusting the delay (Delay)

Each output signal may be delayed up to 848 ms.
Thus, e. g. differences in the delay times of the
sound for different speaker distances can be bal-
anced. If a delay has already been adjusted in
the input signal assigned, the times are added.

1) Select an output with its button EDIT/ MUTE

(6).

2) Use the rotary knob PM1/ ENTER to select

the menu item

Delay

and press the knob to

confirm.
The present adjustment is shown, e. g.

ƊDelay = 100.1040ms

It depends on the submenu “Delay Units” in
the menu for general system adjustments if
the delay is entered as a time indication (

ms

)

or as a distance (

m

) [

chapter 5.2.1].

3) Use the rotary knobs PM2 [coarse] and PM3

[fine] to adjust the desired delay. A change is
effective immediately.

4) To exit the submenu, press the knob ESC.

5.4.5

High pass filter and low pass filter

Each output has a high pass filter and a low pass
filter which as a combination primarily achieve
the function of a crossover network (for fre-
quency-depending distribution of an input signal
to two or several output channels).

1) Select an output with its button EDIT/ MUTE

(6).

2) To adjust the high pass filter, use the rotary

knob  PM1/ ENTER to select the menu item

HPF ƀ

and press the knob to confirm.

The present adjustment is shown, e. g.

ƊBessel_2nd F =    100Hz

i. e. filter characteristic: Bessel, 2

nd

order, cut-

off frequency =100 Hz

3) Use the rotary knob PM2 to select one of

17 filter characteristics or

Bypass

to bypass

the filter. A change is effective immediately.

The following filter characteristics are avail-
able:

Buttw_1st

Butterworth filter of first order with a slope of
6  dB / octave

Buttw_2nd

Butterworth filter of second order with a slope
of  12  dB / octave

LRiley_2nd

Linkwitz-Riley filter of second order with a
slope of 12 dB / octave
