eBike Ready
SQlab products bearing the „eBike Ready“ rating are suitable for use on pedelecs from the point of view of function, ergonomics and
operational stability (in accordance with the standards DIN EN ISO 4210 and DIN EN ISO 15194).
The SQlab Label eBike Ready refers exclusively to the use on pedelecs with pedal assistance up to 25 km/h. The eBike Ready label can
be found on the packaging, the user manual and the product page of your SQlab product
A component exchange of the SQlab grips with screw clamping on fast pedelecs, so-called S-pedelecs, which are classified as motor
vehicles and comply with EU Directive 2002/24/E6 or EU Regulation No. 168/2013, is possible on the basis of the guideline „Exchange of
components on S-Pedelecs - fast e-bikes / pedelecs with pedal assistance up to 45 km/h“ issued by the Bundesinnungsverband Fahrrad
(BIV), TÜV Rheinland, velotech.de, Verbund Service und Fahrrad (VSF), Zedler-Institut as well as the Zweirad-Industrie-Verband (ZIV) with
the restriction that the vehicle width does not change.
Please note that the SQlab Stuby and Stuby short models are grips with integrated bar ends. Therefore these models are
NOT
approved
for Pedelec45.
On our website www.sq-lab.com/service/downloads/
in the service area under Downloads you will find a document called eBike Ready.

Exchange of the SQlab grips on pedelec45
E-bikes and pedelecs with CE mark and pedal assistance up to 25 km/h are subject to the Machinery Directive, therefore components
of these bicycles can not be easily replaced or modified. In order to provide clarity, the associations
Zweirad-Industrie-Verband (ZIV) and Verbund Service und Fahrrad (VSF) in cooperation with the Zedler Institute and the Bundesinnungs-
verband Fahrrad (BIV) has published a joint guideline for component replacement on e-bikes / pedelecs 25.
What bicycle dealers and workshops are allowed to change on these vehicles and for which components they have to obtain the approval
of the vehicle manufacturers or the system provider, is clearly regulated by the guidelines and can therefore be used as a recommenda-
tion for action.
An exchange of the SQlab grips with screw clamping bearing the eBike ready label on pedelec25 is possible based on the recommen-
dation for action „Guide for component exchange for CE-marked e-bikes/pedelecs with pedal assistance up to 25 km/h“ (https://www.
zedler.de/files/kunde/prueftechnik/PDF/Guide_Guideline_Component_Exchange_Stand_14-06-2016-2.pdf) of the associations Zwei-
rad-Industrie-Verband (ZIV) and Verbund Service and Bicycle (VSF) in cooperation with the Zedler Institute and the Bundesinnungsver-
band Fahrrad (BIV) .
