SQUID MODES
The Squid can operate in two modes:
1. Drift mode
2. Trolling mode
For both modes, a kevlar cable grip is affixed to the cable 100 cm from the
end of the Squid housing to aid rigging.
Drift mode
Drift mode sets the camera to look forward and can be used at slow speeds.
To operate in this mode, attach the tail (Figure 7) to the rear of the Squid
using the supplied bolt and nut and the 2.5 mm Allen key. The tail will keep
the unit facing into the current and stabilise the unit. The tail also has a P-clip
which should be unscrewed, the cable fed through and the P-clip reattached.
The P-clip assists to maintain the correct bend radius in the cable (Figure 8).
