• FIGURE 1-3
Heat plastic shells
A
and
B
in a hot water bath to approx. 100°C until they become flexible, then mould them laterally
to the ribs as shown in Fig. 1 + 2. Please make sure that there is enough space under the armpit for the joint pocket
C
in the plastic shell
B
.
•
FIGURE 4-5
Measurements are taken from hole to hole, the upper and lower holes respectively, as shown in Fig. 6. Make sure that
the plastic shells
A
and
B
do not slip when measuring. The measured dimensions, as shown in picture 4, are then care-
fully transferred to the straps
E
+
E1
. Thread the elastic straps
E
+
E1
into the upper slots of the connecting rod
F1
.
•
FIGURE 6
Then, as shown in Fig. 6, rivet the straps
C1
+
C2
to the plastic shells
A
and
B
. Make sure that the elastic support straps
E
+
E1
are riveted under the upper strap
D
.
•
FIGURE 7
Adjust the straps on the patient in such a way that the connecting rod
F1
does not run centrally but to the side of the
spine.
•
FIGURE 8
When all straps are correctly positioned, the force on the thoracic pad
F
is increased. Since the tension of the thoracic
pelotte pad
F
is adjusted in the open state, it is advisable to unhook the thoracic pelotte pad
F
from the pelotte head of
the plastic shell
A
before adjusting it and only re-hook it after adjustment. After this procedure, the scale on the thora-
cic pelotte pad should be at approx. 2 to 2.5 in the exhaled state.
•
FIGURE 9
Relief cuts are made on the lower edge of the lumbar pad
H
with the hole punch and the scissors. This reduces the
distal edge pressure of the lumbar pad
H
. By setting the connecting rod
H1
outwards (approx. 30° to 45°), forces are
built up on the lumbar and thoracic pelotte. The more the connecting rod
H1
is bent outwards, the more corrective
force the TRIAC II scoliosis brace exerts on the spine.
•
FIGURE 10
The orthopaedic technician must attach a custom-made lumbar pad
J
, e.g. by means of Velcro tape
J1
, to the lumbar
support. Pad and Velcro are not included with the product.
•
FIGURE 11
Cut the connecting rod
H1
to the desired length. Make sure that the rod is not too short. It should reach at least to the
upper edge of the joint pocket
C
. It is important that the patient looks straight ahead and stands upright to avoid
cutting the connecting rod
H1
too short.
•
FIGURE 12-15
The lumbar levers
H2
and
J3
are executed dorsally into the middle of the gluteus maximus muscle and pulled from
ventrally to the middle of the thigh. Velcro straps
I
and
I1
are then attached with clamps so that they run horizontally
above the trochanter. During the sitting test, the ventral lumbar lever is cut to length so that the patient can sit well and
bend forward without obstruction.
IMPORTANT
: The lumbar levers
H2
and
J3
should not be cut unnecessarily short to ensure maximum leverage.
•
FIGURE 16
The metal connections of the lumbar pelotte pad
H
are restricted in such a way that pressure points are avoided.
•
FIGURE 17
The more the connecting rod
H1
is bent outwards, the more correction the TRIAC II scoliosis brace exerts on the spine.
•
FIGURE 18
There should be at least 1 finger width of space between the joint pocket
C
and the patient to ensure sufficient correc-
tion clearance. When sufficient clearance can be felt at the joint pocket and the scale of the thoracic support
F
is at
2.5 - 3, it can be riveted to the connecting rod of the lumbar support
F1
.
•
FIGURE 19
Use the soldering iron to melt holes into the measured straps and secure them with hollow rivets. The elastic beams
E
+
E1
should not be secured with hollow rivets to allow for later readjustment.
•
FIGURE 20-21
Finally, cut the plastic tab
H4
to length and drill the connecting rod
H1
at the upper end. Then rivet them both together
and thread them into the tab of the hinge pocket
C
. This is then secured with a hollow rivet so that the connecting rod
H1
can move freely in the joint pocket
C
.
•
FIGURE 22
If required, a custom-made pad
G
can be attached to the thoracic pad
F
, e.g. by means of Velcro
G1
. Pad and Velcro are
not included with the product.
•
FIGURE 23
To put on the TRIAC II scoliosis brace, first close the thoracic closure, then the lumbar closure. To remove the TRIAC II
scoliosis brace, proceed in reverse order.
