Fibre Channel Configuration
The Fibre Configuration Menu (Figure 6-3) allows you to configure the Fibre Channel
port.

To launch the Fibre Configuration Menu, select

from the Configuration Menu.
To configure the Fibre Channel port, use the following options:
[1] Loop ID Type:
Toggles between hard and soft loop ID. If a hard loop ID is selected you
will be asked to provide a loop ID number. No loop ID number is needed for a
soft loop ID.
[2] Loop ID:
Only necessary with a hard loop ID.
[3] Connection:
Prompts for selection of Loop, Fabric or Auto for fibre connection mode.
[3] Initiator:
This option should be disabled, unless your environment is able to handle
multiple fibre initiators on the same loop. This option should be enabled for
Serverless Backup.
[?] Help:
Displays help for this menu.
[Esc] Return to Main Menu:
Returns you to the main menu.
Configuring Serverless Backup
Serverless Backup allows data to travel directly between a disk source and a tape
source. This method of backup relieves the backup server from the responsibility of
moving data.
