ESD Precautions

Preparing for Installation

21

Caution -

To protect electronic components from ESD, which can permanently damage

electronics, place components on an antistatic surface, such as an antistatic discharge mat, or

an antistatic bag. Wear an antistatic grounding strap connected to a metal surface on the chassis

when you work on server components.

The following figure shows the modular system chassis ground connector for which you can

connect antistatic equipment.
