CONNECTING THE TISS SYSTEM 

The heater can be used without a TISS wire when installed below  a non-combustible ceiling 
only. For other installations with combustible ceilings the TISS wire must be added as shown 
below. 

Description: The TISS (Tube Integrity Safety System) is designed to shut the main burner off in the event that a 
burnout  occurs  in  the  first  10ft.  section  of  firing  tube.  Note:  When  replacing  the  firing  tube  a  new  TISS  wire 
assembly PN 44176510 (spring and spring retainer clamp not included) must also be installed. 
Instructions:

 

A.

 

Make sure that the gap between the burner box and end of reflector is 3.5

” and the reflector is securely 

attached to the reflector support bracket.  Make adjustments if necessary.

-mature TISS wire failure.

Un-roll the TISS wire assembly from the spool. Be careful not to kink the wires. The holder clamp must 
be installed to the burner control using the bottom set of holes as shown in the label view.
