7. Click the [edit] button.
8. Click the [select] button, and select the Project file.
9. When the message “IFPLD CsuNo is not Equal to
ActiveCsuFile” is displayed, click the [OK] button.
10. Select the [Tool]
→
[Download Only]
→
[Download
→
Verify] of the toolbar after the message “ready” is
displayed.
11. Click the [Yes (Y)] button after the message “Start to
Download
→
Verify” is displayed.
A few minutes later, the D800 on the VPR-84 board
lights up and then becomes dark.
The message “.....finish” is displayed at the lower left
of the window when the download is completed.
12. Exit the PLD Download Tool software, and turn off
the power of this unit.
13. Check that the switch S800-4 on the VPR-84 board is
set to OFF, and restore to the original position.
14. Restore the IF-936 board to the original position.
VPR-84 BOARD (A SIDE)
Data write procedure
Data write procedure in the PLD (or ROM for PLD) is
outlined below.
For details of data write procedure, refer to “Download
Tool Operating Instruction for Device Programming”
which is available in the same site where the PLD Down-
load Tool software is available.
DPR-255 board and IF-936 board
1. Prepare the Project file.

Download the Project file from the Sony Database
Server.
2. Turn off the power of this unit. Connect the PC
parallel port to the EPR connector of the target board
using the PLD download fixture (cable).
3. Turn on the power of this unit.
Start the Download Tool software and read the Project
file.
4. Program the PLD (or ROM for PLD) with the Down-
load Tool software.
5. Upon completion of programming, check that error
message is not displayed. Turn off the power of this
unit and back on.
VPR-84 Board
1. Prepare the Project file.

Download the Project file from the Sony Database
Server.
2. Turn off the power of this unit. Connect the PC
parallel port to the EPR connector CN19 on the MB-
1022 board using the PLD download fixture (cable).
3. Pull out the IF-936 board from the unit, and check that
the switch S800-3 on the VPR-84 board is set to ON.
4. Extend the VPR-84 board using the EX-819 board.
5. Short-circuit TP138 and TP186 on the EX-819 board
with a shorting clip.
6. Turn on the power of this unit and start the Download
Tool software.
The D700 on the VPR-84 board lights up.

When the D700 on the VPR-84 board is dark and the
other LEDs are lit, exit the PLD Download Tool
software once, and then restart the software after
performing the steps 5 to 8.
